The Homemaking Support Services Program (HSSP) provides homemaking services (i.e. light housekeeping, laundry, etc.) for individuals with limited financial resources who need support to remain independent in their home and to maintain housing stability.
The program is administered by the Region of Waterloo, homemaking support services are contracted through local agencies.
We no longer offer phone appointments at time of referral. The client will be contacted when we are able to offer service. Due to the 3-4 year waitlist, please consider other supports in the interim.
Please request consent to include an email address (client's or their alternate contact's) in the Caredove referral form as an email will automatically be sent confirming that the client has been added to the HSSP waitlist list.
- Resident of Waterloo Region
- Willing to disclose financial & health information relevant to establishing eligibility for services.
- Unable to or has difficulty participating in homemaking tasks (due to illness or injury, frailty or living with a disability), and requires the services of a homemaker
- Receiving social assistance, disability or seniors' pension
- Able to provide their own cleaning equipment and supplies
