Service Details
Description:
The Adult Day Program service is available to older adults and adults with special needs who may be having difficulty with activities of daily living and would benefit from interacting in a social, recreational and supportive atmosphere.
It offers therapeutic activities with a focus on wellness, recreation and socialization and includes snacks and meals.
Service Components:
• Personal Support Workers available to assist clients
• Client-centred care
• Recreational Staff offer individual and group activities
• Morning coffee and snack
• Hot, nutritional, full-course meal
• Exercise program
• Regular blood pressure and weight monitoring
• Respite for the caregiver.
• Assistance with medication (if needed).

Eligibility Criteria
Criteria:
- Seniors/older adults who are living in the community (as opposed to Long Term Care).
- Individuals who may be having difficulty with their activities of daily living.
- Individuals who would benefit in a small group, social, recreational and supportive atmosphere.
- Those with a cognitive disability who are able to cope within a more generic program will also be considered for admission into this program.
