Description:

Qualified attendant care staff provide assistance with activities of daily living in their place of residence, employment, community or educational environment. The services include, but are not limited to, assistance with grooming and personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, rising and retiring, meal preparation, taking medication and essential communication services. For existing clients, Palliative Support can be provided when appropriate.

Minimum Age: 16 yrs
Criteria:
  • Clients must have a permanent physical disability or acquired brain injury, and a valid OHIP health card.
  • Clients must be able to direct his/her/their care (capable of managing, determining, and communicating when and how he/she/they need(s) assistance and is able to co-operate with this provision) and must not be in receipt of insurance funds that are designated for attendant services.
