Nutrition and Diet Learn to prepare healthy meals, about eating behaviour, and more. Select a Category
Classes
Provides education to participants to make choices that may improve wellness or reduce risks of disease. May focus on specific diseases or specific lifestyle issues (e.g. healthy eating).
Counselling
Individualized nutrition counselling. Normally provided by a Registered Dietitian.

Aquafit Programs
Exercise with the use of water to support the body to reduce the risk of muscle or joint injury.
Fitness Group
Exercise sessions where participants develop physical fitness and/or skills within a defined sport. May be either beginners or advanced.
Community Centre
Facilitates activities in a supported setting such as recreation, fitness, social, educational programs and events. Specialized programs in post-rehabilitation, chronic disease management, and nutrition education may also be available. Usually membership based.

Provides group exercise classes, typically one hour in length, to improve strength and balance. Education provided to reduce risk of falls.
Supervised Rehabilitation Exercise
Exercise programs delivered with the support of certified professionals. Programs include a mix of education and exercise. May be focused on specific chronic disease. Often done in community, post rehabilitation.

A publicly accessible facility that includes indoor features such as pool, track, gym, meeting rooms, rink, aerobics room, weight room, concession area.

Adult Day Program
Provides a daytime group environment of supervised activities, meals, companionship and recreation for older adults and those with chronic or palliative conditions.
Housekeeping

Offers assistance with routine household activities such as light house cleaning, laundry, ironing, and preparing meals.
Meals on Wheels
Provided at home
Delivers a nutritionally balanced noon hour hot meal by volunteers who provide a social contact and a safety check for the client. Special diets may be accommodated. Frozen meals may be available.
Rides & Transportation
Provided at home
Provides door-to-door rides for seniors or adults who have a disability to attend medical and therapeutic appointments, social activities and perform other daily tasks such as shopping trips.
Friendly Visiting
Provided at home
Offers no charge visiting companionship such as conversation, reading, games, or crafts, while providing a safety check. The contact may be face-to-face at the client's home or through a phone call.
Home Maintenance & Repair
Provided at home
Matches eligible clients with individuals or businesses that provide affordable repairs and maintenance to a senior's home.
Overnight Stay Respite
Provides planned overnight support in a supervised, secure environment to give short-term respite to caregivers.

Behavioural Support (In-Home)
Provided at home
Assesses people with cognitive impairment for specific responsive behaviours such as agitation, repetition, and wandering arising from dementia, mental health or addictions. Works collaboratively with caregivers to identify strategies to manage the behaviour and reduce risks.
Geriatric Medicine Clinic
Provides geriatric medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment by a team of health professionals who are experts in seniors' health. Typical concerns include falls prevention, medication management and cognitive decline.
Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic
Provides geriatric mental health assessment, diagnosis, counselling and treatment by a team who are experts in seniors' mental health.Typical concerns include confusion, anxiety, depression and psychosis.
