Description:

Improve your mood, energy levels and mobility through exercise
Start at a pace that is appropriate for you with support from qualified staff
Appropriate for those with conditions such as stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and spinal cord injury
Exercise options are available for those using cane, walkers or wheelchairs

The safety of our participants is of upmost importance. Our Neuro Fit program is running virtually until further notice. Connect with others and work out from the comfort of your own home! Access to a device and internet for video conferencing is required to participate. This program is hosted through ZOOM.



NEURO FIT – RED CLASS Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays 11:30-12:30 pm



An inclusive, 60-minute virtual exercise class providing both seated and standing options. The class will encourage active recovery and/or will transition between exercises quickly. Participants are encouraged to work with staff by engaging in ongoing self-monitoring and reflection on their progression and changing needs.



NEURO FIT – WHITE CLASS Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays 1:30-2:30 pm



An inclusive, 60-minute virtual exercise class providing both seated and standing options. The class will move at a pace that provides additional time for participants to transition between exercises, and offer opportunities for breaks. Participant progression can be supported by program leaders, with input from participants regarding strengths, challenges and abilities.



Please note classes do not run on statutory holidays.

Neuro Fit participants may book a free in-person individual session at the YMCA for direction and exercise recommendations in the fitness centre if they are comfortable exercising on their own or with support of their care partner.

Cost to Client:
Free for YMCA members. Non-members may pay a program fee of $105 + HST (this includes a YMCA membership for the duration of the program). Payment options and membership fee assistance are available.

Individuals with impaired physical mobility. With neurological conditions, including: - Parkinson's Disease- Stroke- Spinal Cord Injury- Multiple Sclerosis
