MCT is an outreach team that is designed to provide rapid assessment of and stabilization for individuals in the community who are in crisis. TOH also is one of four hospitals that contract for the operation of the Mental Health Crisis Line, which is a bilingual 24/7 service available across all of the Champlain District. MCT also has an agreement with Ottawa Police Services for the operation of the Mental Health Unit of Ottawa Police. MCT operates 10 Crisis Stabilization Beds located at 2 different locations in Ottawa. A referral from a health professional or community service worker is required.
