Description:

The Steps to Wellness program is free and is an effective 9-week, online, group-based CBT series where participants will meet weekly in the virtual group setting with public health nurses to learn skills, strategies and tools to help them manage their depression and anxiety. The Steps to Wellness program will provide women with the skills and tools they need to manage the symptoms of PMD and is of benefit to mothers and their families.



Symptoms include:
o Anxiety (constant worry, racing thoughts, panicky)
o Depression (crying/sadness, lack of interest in things you normally enjoy, low motivation)
o Feelings of guilt, shame or hopelessness
o Feelings of anger or irritability
o Changes to sleep and appetite

Eligibility Criteria
Other Criteria:
Minimum Age: 18 yrs
Criteria:
  • Resident of HPE, KFL&A, LLG counties
  • Child 12 months or younger, or currently pregnant
  • Female client over the age of 18
  • PHQ 9 score between 10-20 (can be 9 or less if clinical judgement warrants)
    Question #9 on PHQ-9  is 0- never OR 1 – hardly ever
  • No diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder; Borderline Personality Disorder; Psychosis
  • No current diagnosis OR active treatment of: Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); Substance Use
