Service Details
Description:

The team is designed to be as flexible and responsive to the needs of youth as possible. Within 24-72 hours after a referral is made, an appointment is set up with the young person and an initial assessment is conducted involving both the client and their family when appropriate. The goals of this first meeting are to determine the needs of the young person and to develop a plan of action to meet those needs. The focus is on safety and basic needs first. Youth can then be connected to our Clinical Counselling program or another agency. A Community Response Team Counsellor can meet up with youth in the community, at a school when possible or at our agency. The team works closely with the hospital, area schools and community organizations.
