Description:
Provides group psychotherapy for those 18 years and older with a serious and persistent mental illness. Our philosophy of care is based on concern for the over-all psychological well-being of our patients and respect for their individual needs. Goals include alleviating acute psychological distress and improving quality of life. Group therapy treatments may include DBT, CBT, support group, illness/disorder specific groups (such as bi-polar and trauma group), and others. Specific referrals to group depend on client needs, stage of change, and goals.

Criteria:
- Must be referred by a physician or nurse practitioner or psychiatrist
- Must be willing to participate in person (and follow the PPE mandates of the hospital)
- Must be willing and able to participate in programs offered in a group format
- Patient has moderate to severe, and persistent mental illness
