Description:

Part of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s East Region Eating Disorder Programs, the Adult Eating Disorders Program at Hotel Dieu Hospital (HDH) is an outpatient program that provides client-centered, evidenced-based treatment to individuals struggling with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, or Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders.



The program provides diagnostic assessment, consultation, and interdisciplinary treatment services to individuals 18 years of age and older. The Adult Eating Disorders Team includes a psychiatrist, nurse practitioner, dietitian, social worker, occupational therapist, and support staff.



Our geographical catchment area includes both the South East LHIN and the Champlain LHIN.



Standard Program Length:
• Phase 1 (variable, over several weeks) 1.5-3 hours weekly or biweekly

• Phase 2 (13 Weeks): half days Tuesday - Thursday plus availability on Mondays and Fridays for individual sessions and homework

• Phase 3 (8 weeks): 1.5 hours - 3 hours weekly

Minimum Age: 16 yrs
Criteria:
  • At our outpatient program we treat individuals who meet DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for an eating disorder with a BMI of 16 or higher.

    Our program does not currently accept referrals for Binge Eating Disorder (BED), as we do not have the resources nor do we employ the appropriate treatment model to treat BED.
