The Friendly Visiting Program provides volunteers who visit and socialize with clients who feel isolated, lonely, and who desire more social contact. Friendly Visiting promotes friendship and fun. Volunteers can also provide simple support and assistance, such as reading or helping to write letters/cards. Friendly Visitors typically visit clients in person every other week and phone on the alternate week. Volunteers may be recruited to meet the preferences of clients from diverse communities e.g. language (interpretation can be provided), LGBT community, etc. As Friendly Visiting is a volunteer-based program, we cannot predict how quickly a match can be made. Our priority is finding a volunteer who is compatible so that the match has strongest opportunity for success.
