Description:

Who Can Benefit: People who have limited alternatives to get their groceries and need the service to live independently in their own homes.



Staff or volunteers provide transportation and assistance with shopping at the closest preferred grocery store (one store only). Clients who are unable to attend the trip must provide a detailed list (with ideas for substitutions if necessary) and cash or gift cards. Debit and credit cards are not accepted. Drivers pick up list and payment and shop for the client. Drivers can assist with putting groceries away and return change and receipt.



Clients need to call Community Support Connections a minimum of seven business days ahead to book a shopping trip. Shopping trips will be confirmed two business days before the shopping trip based on driver availability. Flexibility in request times is recommended. Restrictions for time and volume of shop may apply.

Minimum Age: 18 yrs
Criteria:
  • No direct family or friends that can shop for them
  • Ability to transfer themselves in and out of a vehicle (escorted)
  • Needs assistance (heavy items, sight, hearing, mental heath, health issues)
  • Cannot get out of house for length of time required to shop (list)
  • Flexible to receive/go shopping between 8:00AM-8:00PM
  • In a wheelchair (list)
