Service Details
Description:
Companionship and social contact are provided to isolated seniors through friendly phone calls or weekly visits. Volunteers are carefully matched to seniors by interests, language or culture. Volunteers can spend time with the senior doing a number of activities including, but not limited to: reading, playing games, organizing photos, writing legacy stories, or simply just chatting.
Clients must reside in the community. This service is not provided to clients residing in LTC, Retirement Homes or with family members as it is intended for those who are isolated in the community.
Volunteers are most frequently available during evenings and weekends.
