Description:
This is a safe, private home-like space for family and friends to spend quality time with their loved ones. It has a fully accommodated kitchen and family room for families to enjoy. There is a private, secure entrance, and family may move in or come and go. The family is supported 24 hours a day by a well-trained team consisting of MVHPC staff, professional caregivers from St. Francis Memorial Hospital, and volunteers. The client's primary care continues to support unless they are at a distance or the client does not have a provider. Then Hospice staff will arrange to find a physician who can support while in Hospice. This is a free service which also includes parking.

Other notes: This becomes their home and they can cook their own food, enjoy alcohol, play music adjust the temperature, and have as many family members as they wish at any given time.

Eligibility Criteria
Criteria:
  • Experiencing symptoms from a life limiting illness
  • Must be 30% - 40% or less on the palliative scale
  • Must understand that no extreme life saving measures will be undertaken and a DNR must be signed.
  • Must not be over 300lbs in weight
