Description:
This group explores the sources of anger, and teaches coping skills to
manage anger. Anger can be a normal, healthy part of life if it is handled using the skills taught in this group. It runs once weekly for 10 weeks.
It might be tempting to never want to feel angry again, but unpleasant
emotions like anger cannot be avoided completely. Instead, the Anger
Management group can help to recognize triggers for anger, and teaches coping skills to reduce the negative impacts of anger. Anger is related to other emotions like frustration, irritation, and resentment. No matter how anger is expressed, this group can provide healthier, more productive ways of managing it.

Standard program length: 10 weeks (1.5 hour session once weekly)

Minimum Age: 16 yrs
Criteria:
Eligibility entails a willingness to accept past angry behaviour as problematic, and an interest in making changes to reduce the negative impacts of anger. May not be suitable for those with intellectual disabilities, or other issues that may interfere with comprehension or interacting with peers respectfully.
