Connected Canadians is Canada's leading digital inclusion charity that provides free technology training and support to older adults, fostering digital literacy skills and reducing isolation and loneliness. Through partnerships with senior-serving organizations and technology companies, we provide one-on-one training sessions, workshops, customized employee training and volunteering experiences. By 2030, our goal is for all Canadian seniors to have access to free technology training and support.
Virtual Needs Assessment
One of our outreach coordinators will conduct an initial needs assessment to identify main gaps and goals. After this, a trained and certified technology mentor will work with the client to meet their short and long term technology learning goals.
Sessions are held both virtually and in-person in public locations at mutually agreed upon times between the client and technology mentor.
Examples of topics covered include: • Setting up and using email (including how to send photos) • How to video chat (e.g FaceTime / Teams / Zoom) • Communicating by text using your phone • Facebook/YouTube basics • How the Internet can help you cook • Music and the Internet
