Traverse Independence's Slow to Recover Group Home for adults with acquired brain injuries (ABI) is a non-medical, shared living facility for six clients. Employees assist clients with their personal care, health and personal well-being, offer cognitive and behavioural management, and provide social and emotional support. The Group Home fosters clients' independence and encourages clients to integrate into the community.

Criteria:
To be eligible for the ABI Group Home, applicants must:- Have a valid Ontario Health Card- Have a brain injury diagnosed by a Regulated Health Professional- Be medically stable- Demonstrate the desire to be involved in programs- Require 24 hour supervision- Not be dangerous to themselves or others- Not have severe behavioural problems- Not have on-going psychiatric or substance abuse issues
